Cruising from Hartlepool
Hartlepool is ideally located for short day trips to Sunderland and Whitby. Both can be accessed at all states of tide and have excellent marina facilities.
Sailing a little further Blyth & Scarborough are still within a days sail and also have marina facilities.
On Wednesday evening & Sunday morning the mixed cruiser fleet race in Hartlepool Bay. The handicap system allows equality regardless of size & the race variety means anyone can win!
There are also distance courses to neighbouring ports & races against other Clubs in the North East Cruiser Racing Association. See 'NECRA'
For the more adventurous, cruise up the coast to the Farne Islands or onto the Forth and the Caladonian Canal.
If you are up to crossing the North Sea, Ijmuiden is a good port of call. Scarborough Yacht Club organise a race each year, see 'NECRA'
